Many people have been taught that revolution and radical change leads to disaster.
Everyone has heard "Communism is a good idea, but because of human nature the impulse leads to totalitarianism." And various episodes of history are offered as examples. Those examples need to be analyzed and answered.
At the same time there are "buried episodes" -- the powerful inspirational essense of revolution in our times. And we need to tell each other about them.
In this thread, lets list questions about the history of communism,
And lets list good, interesting (or controversial) online articles that deal with these issues.

Here are some negative incidents listed on another board:

Allende was an economic downfall for Chile. 15. The "mass slaughter" by the PCP led by Chairman Gonzalo. 16. Cult of Personality--relating to nearly all Socialist Countries. 17. Mao was a "Nationalist". 18. Stalin was a "Nationalist". 19. The Forced Labor Camps in Socialist Countries. 20. The (forced) Collectivization in Socialist Countries.

I just want to say that the so-called "negative incidents" are often fabrications.
they are always more complicated than the anti-communists portray.
They often are the opposite of what the anti-communists portray.
And they are always, always important lessons for the revolutionaries to learn from.
