I was just thinking, and the question popped into my head... Why should we wait until we have state power to really start huge cultural projects that promote humanity and create a culture around the proletariat.
There is alot of potential to reach people through cultural projects. Many proletarians have alot of trouble sitting down and jumping into a huge political talk - or any political talk at all. Why not create other projects that create public opinion in a less direct way?
For example, why not produce actual movies (besides documentaries and talks) that show international struggle all around the world or right here in the USA. These kinds of films are inspiring and are very effective in creating public opinion. And not just movies! We could do poetry, fictional books, and video games as well. Entertainment is crying out for revolutionary culture and morality. We should get people who have these kinds of abilities who are involved in our party to get organized with one another to try to produce movies and video games. We must overcome the stereotype of boring commies! =)
With all this Motorcycle Diaries business, we need to have a movie about the life of a real revolutionary like Mao. Instead of all these video games where the youth are led to the third world to gun people down, we should have games about People's War, or games where the player was faced with the task of developing a socialist economy. The youth are constantly bombarded with negative culture from video games... we need to expose them to some positive culture.
